  My husband and I went today to pick up Mario Odyssey. My husband asked the gentleman at the counter if we had to trade in our games in the same transaction or if it could be done separately. The man at the counter turned to the other employee as he was unsure (he seemed to be new). The second employee, whose name I believe is Ean was unnecessarily rude and acted as though my husband and I had asked the stupidest question he’d ever heard. We left the counter to browse more and came back to do our trade-in and purchase the game. My husband had several of the cards that give you an additional $5 towards trade-ins and handed it to the newer gentleman who asked Ean about it. Ean scoffed at us and explained that it was no longer usable as the cut-off was earlier this month, again treating us as though we were some of the stupidest people he’s ever had to deal with. We shrugged and accepted it, didn’t make a big fuss. As we were being rung up we asked about getting the codes for the current promotion Pokémon that GameStop does every so often. Again, the newer employee turned to Ean, who then pointed to a receipt and told him to just cut one off for us. My husband and I were a bit confused as the codes are advertised as coming on cards that are handed out, not a slip of receipt paper. Again, didn’t bother making a big deal over it as it’s not that important to us. We did, however, ask if we could receive another code as we both play the game and have two separate copies. Ean rolled his eyes and huffed sarcastically that suuure we could get another but the max he’s allowed to give out is two. We’re two separate people and it’s that much trouble to give each of us one code. I will not be doing any more business over at this GameStop. I will be picking up my pre-orders for Ultra Sun/Moon at this GameStop since they’re already paid for and that’s it. I’d rather take my business across the street to the other one where we’ve actually gotten decent customer service.
